What Is Microdermabrasion?
Your skin goes through a lot every day. After fighting against the harmful rays of the sun, pollution, toxins, and harsh winds, your complexion is eventually going to show signs of a battle. Your body’s natural defenses will start to break down, and that is how skin can end up looking dull, damaged, rough, and dry. Thankfully, this is where microdermabrasion comes in!
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure that is used in order to renew the overall texture and tone of your skin. The treatment can improve the appearance of melasma, acne scarring, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and other conditions and concerns relating to your skin.

This treatment is widely used for unclogging pores and clearing acne. Often used in combination with medical acne extractions and gentle glycolic peels, microdermabrasion can help to speed up acne clearing.
Microdermabrasion For Melasma
Many patients have also turned to microdermabrasion for melasma. It can be helpful in treating this condition, as well as other forms of hyperpigmentation. Optimal melasma treatment may typically include monthly or bi-weekly microdermabrasion used in combination with medical acne extractions and gentle glycolic peels, microdermabrasion can help to speed up acne clearing. Combined with fading creams, daily sunscreens, and glycolic peels.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Does it hurt? While everyone experiences different levels of pain, you may feel some discomfort and needle stick pain.
-
Are there any side effects? There may be some swelling or bruising for a few days. The results commonly improve over time, as the swelling subsides, and the filler settles more naturally – this process often takes up to 2 weeks.
-
Am I suitable for Fillers treatment? This treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or has severe allergic reactions
-
Fillers Aftercare? The following may assist with recovery and results: Following the instructions provided by our specialists before and after your treatment Stay upright following your treatment for 3-4 hours Avoid sleeping for 3-4 hours after the treatment (to avoid pressing the treated area) Take arnica supplements and apply arnica cream Avoid strenuous exercise following the treatment Limit your sun exposure Apply a cold compress to the treated area Avoid facial treatments or other treatments on the area Should you experience any symptoms, notify us so we can best assist you. To maintain the effect of your treatment, you will require further follow ups.
-
When will I see results? Most patients will notice immediate results following their filler treatment. However, note that it can take 7-10 days to notice the final results, which is when any potential bruising, swelling or redness subsides.
-
How long do the results last? This will depend on your own metabolism. Some people will break down the fillers more quickly than others. A general rule of thumb is that fillers typically last longer in the areas that move the least – such as cheeks, in comparison to lips, which may last a little less time. To maintain the effectiveness of your Fillers treatment, you will require further follow-ups, but you can expect your cheek fillers to last for 6 months and more.
-
What are the benefits of Fillers?Quick – most treatments take approximately 30 minutes to perform. Faster and more effective than creams – the treatment results are much faster than those achieved when using skincare.
