What are Spider Veins?
Veins and capillaries are very thin and over time become tired and more dilated, this makes them look like they are closer to the surface of the skin. This is what spider veins are – they appear in small clusters of blue, red or purple – the medical terms for thread veins is telangiectasis. Like a blemish on the skin, they can make you feel self-conscious and when they start to have an impact on your confidence, the time has come to take action.

SPIDER VEINS

Our Laser Spider Veins is a low risk and non-invasive method for treating your thread veins. The practitioners here at Euphoria Medical Center will use electrolysis. Our laser uses a direct single beam of energy that specifically targets the thread vein, which is then absorbed by the blood vessel without damaging the surrounding skin. The blood within the vessel then coagulates due to the heat, this then breaks down the vein. Depending on the size of the blood vessel, it will either be removed completely after one session or become smaller.
The Laser Spider Veins Treatment
Before we begin treatment, we ensure no medical history has changed and you have not been in the sun within the last 4 weeks. Your laser specialist will then cleanse the area and provide you with safety goggles to protect your eyes against the laser light. A thin layer of cooling gel is then applied over the veins for extra cooling and to help with the absorption of energy. When the laser is ready to use, cold air will be coming out of the handpiece at the same time whilst treating the veins. This is for comfort and to protect the skin from any adverse reactions. Once all the thread veins have been treated, the cooling gel is then removed, and SPF 50 is then applied.
